Contraccions · Legal
Privacy Policy
Contraccions is designed to work without an account or developer-operated backend. This policy explains what the app stores, when Apple services are used, and how this website differs from the app.
Effective August 29, 2026
Data you enter
The app can store contraction start times and edits, session labels, hospital name and maternity phone number, hospital coordinates, usual journey time, a user-configured timing criterion, an optional last-period start date, and app preferences.
This information is used only to provide the app's timing, history, hospital-plan, Live Activity, and export features.
Local storage
App records are stored locally in an app-group container on your device so Contraccions and its widget can use the same data. CloudKit is disabled, and the developer does not operate a server that receives these records.
Contraccions has no user account, advertising, app analytics, or tracking, and the developer does not sell app data.
Location and Apple Maps
If you choose to request a journey estimate, Contraccions asks iOS for your location while the app is in use. The app uses it to calculate a route to the selected hospital and does not add your current location to its own database.
Hospital search, directions, and optional traffic estimates use Apple's MapKit and Maps services. Apple may process search queries, location, and route information under its own privacy policy. You can deny location permission; contraction recording and the manually entered usual journey time will continue to work.
Exports and phone calls
Contraccions creates a text or PDF summary only when you ask it to. The iOS share sheet lets you choose where that export goes; the developer does not receive it. Calling maternity and opening a route are also explicit actions handled by iOS and Apple Maps.
Retention and deletion
Records remain on your device until you delete individual contractions or sessions, or remove the app. Hospital-plan information and preferences remain until you change them or remove the app.
Because the developer does not receive the app's local records, there is no server-side copy to request from the developer or ask the developer to erase.
This website
These project pages are hosted on didac.dev. The website may use PostHog product analytics to understand page visits and interactions. Website analytics can include technical information such as the page viewed, referrer, browser or device details, and an identifier stored by the browser. They are separate from Contraccions and are never connected to records stored inside the app.
The website's hosting and analytics providers may process network information such as an IP address to deliver and secure the site. The developer does not sell this information.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the app or its services change. The effective date above will be updated when that happens.
