Filament dry box
Some of my filament was picking up moisture, so I needed a simple way to keep it dry.
How I put it together
I found this build on MakerWorld. It uses a 4 L airtight cereal container that holds one spool and keeps the outside air out.
Order the containers and hygrometers first, then start printing the parts. The default A1 profile takes about 7 hours and 20 minutes, so it should be ready by the time they arrive.
I filled the 3D-printed silica holder with reusable beads, then fitted the hygrometer into its built-in slot so I can check the humidity without opening the box. The model also has an option for a round hygrometer.
Reuse the silica
When the beads have absorbed moisture, I take them out and dry them in the microwave following the product instructions, then use them again.
